The BIM Engineer understands planning and technical attributes of construction and integrates meaningful information with advanced BIM applications which may include 3D laser-scanning, building information modeling (BIM), 4D construction project scheduling,
5D construction cost estimating, mobile field operations management, and related virtual design and construction solutions.
Participate in BIM coordination meetings with project team, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Use BIM to identify design and constructability conflicts and review coordination related questions/issues raised by subs, vendors, designers, and Grunley staff or others.
Prepare and distribute follow-up action items for subcontractor detailers and modelers.
When necessary, develop 3D object models to illustrate contractor questions and possible solutions.
Update as-built and revised Building Information Model to reflect changes in scopes as required by project.
Support projects in surveying existing conditions with the use of laser scanning and incorporating it into BIM Coordination.
Track and validate data collected in the field and embedded in models.
Assist field personnel with usage of BIM Models and Data.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in building design and construction; or experience implementing design and construction information technologies. Knowledge of building systems, clash detection, construction.
Preferred skills in:
Autodesk 360 Glue and Field
Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or information technology.
Software applications related to the BIM Engineer realm of knowledge and proficiency includes: Autodesk AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
