The primary role of the Project Accountant is to handle the job costing of selected company projects and related subcontracts.
This position reports to the Accounting Supervisor.
Analyze and enter all change orders, back charges, and award analysis into Sage 300 and/or Procore. Analyze and import subcontracts, and subcontract change orders from Procore into Sage 300.
Analyze and enter projected adjustments into the Sage 300 system. Prepare & distribute all monthly job cost reports to the Project Managers, Project Executives and Contract Executives.
Prepare the close out package for all completed jobs in Sage 300 and in Procore.
Prepare and enter direct cost entries, as needed, into Sage 300. Accounts Receivable
Prepare and enter monthly billings to various Joint Venture partners. Enter and analyze monthly owner requisitions (accounts receivable, retainage receivable and contract revenue) into Sage 300 (Timberline).
Enter job-related and miscellaneous cash receipts into Sage 300. Accounts Payable
Primarily responsible for the processing and the maintenance of accounts payable function to subcontractor.
Enter and process all subcontractor pay vouchers and vendor invoices into Sage 300.
File/scan all change orders, back charges and other related documentation into Procore and network drive.
Train project managers on how to read and use Sage 300 and Procore job cost reports, train on the usage of Sage 300 and Procore systems and preparation of accounting forms.
Assist in the annual audit of The Grunley Companies with the independent auditors.
Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and the accounting principles of accounts payable
Good understanding of accounting systems Multi-tasking and good communication skills both verbal and written

A minimum of two (2) years of construction accounting department experience is required.
High school diploma or GED.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
